We get asked all the time what products we actually use and trust in our travels, so we put everything in one place here. These are the items that have made our RV life easier, safer, and a lot more enjoyable. We only share products we personally use and love and have organized them by category.

RV Upgrades

Suspension and Axels
We upgraded our suspension and axels to ensure our rig was able to handle more weight and the bumpy off-road conditions we travel on. In addition, we also added crossmembers for added stability. Here’s the specific products we use:

The MORryde X-factor Crossmembers and you can find that here -> https://shopmorryde.com/?ref=HallFamilyTravels7

Brake System
We upgraded from the stock drum brakes to hydraulic disc brakes to ensure we had the most efficient stopping power. We use the Hydrastar Disc Brake Kit and you can find that on eTrailer here -> Hydrastar Disc Brake Kit w/ Actuator for Tandem Axle Trailers – 13″ Hub/Rotor – 8 on 6-1/2 – 7K Hydrastar Trailer Brakes HSE7K-T1

Lithium Battery and Converter/Inverter
We upgraded from two lead acid batteries with a total of 300aH to one lithium battery with a total of 600 aH. We paired this with a converter/inverter combo and many other Victron accessories to make it all talk to each other! Here’s what we use:

The Vatrer 12V 600aH Lithium RV Battery and you can find that here -> https://www.vatrerpower.com/?sca_ref=10681795.1aIq3PyDuS

The Converter/Inverter Combo and Victron accessories can all be ordered from Amazon below:

Victron Energy Charge Controller -> https://amzn.to/4uU2N0s

Wall Receptacles

We changed out all of the RV stock receptacles and installed tamper resistant receptacles with USB and USB-C ports. This was a must for safety reasons, and a bonus for having those additional USB ports -> https://amzn.to/4bMnm6j

Off-Grid Must-Haves

Generator

If you like to camp off-grid, a generator is a must for convenience and comfort! We use the Honda EU3200 you can get on Amazon here -> https://amzn.to/4szUdSW

Additional Water Tank

For longer off-grid stays for a family of four, we didn’t want to be limited with the stock 65 gallon tank. We added an additional 30-gallon fresh water tank you can get right from Amazon here -> https://amzn.to/4bPCWht

Solar Panels

Solar panels are a must for keeping your batteries charged. We added two 100-watt panels on top of our rig, as well as two 400-watt panels on top of our truck! You can pick up solar panels from Amazon here -> https://amzn.to/4c2BsS5

Water Filter and Softener

If you’re going to be filling up at a random place and not sure about the water quality, a filter is a must! Safety and health is number one and that’s why we use the BluTechnologies 3-in-1 RV Filtration System with a Water Softener and you can find those here -> https://goblutech.com/oavzskzx Bonus: Use discount code MWKACRFZET for 7% off!

Starlink Internet

While it may not be a necessity to everyone, it is definitely nice to have an internet connection, especially if you work remote! We use the Starlink Mini and it’s awesome. You can use this link to get your first month free -> https://starlink.com/residential?referral=RC-2974783-24153-70

Truck Accessories

Front Winch Bumper
We upgraded our stock bumper on our 2016 GMC truck to a heavy duty bumper with a winch mount and higher ground clearance. This upgrade included the following components:

The Chassis Unlimited Octane Front Winch Bumper here -> Full Size Truck Bumpers | Chassis Unlimited

The Warn 103254 VR EVO 12 Electric 12V DC Winch we ordered from Amazon here -> https://amzn.to/3Pxye0g

The bumper does not come with lights so we ordered multiple 3″ Auxbeam flood and spot lights also from Amazon -> https://amzn.to/4ddWpLb

Camper Shell and Lift Kit
We house our dirtbikes and some other items in the bed of our truck and love that it’s protected with our camper shell (that we found on FB Marketplace)!

What makes this even better is the lift kit we installed to lift the entire shell up 17″ so that we could stand up and load our bikes easily.

You can check out the Topper EZ Lift here ->Home – TopperEzLift

TireMinder

A big one that helps peace of mind for towing is a tire pressure monitor! We use the TireMinder so we know right away if we blow a trailer tire. You can get that on Amazon here -> https://amzn.to/47iaTpA

Tools

Power Tools
Dustin is a handyman so we carry a lot of tools with us. We especially love the cordless Milwaukee tools! Some of our favorites and must-haves that we use often for our lifestyle that you can find on Amazon are:

M12 Compact Inflator (must-have for inflating motorcycle and bicycle tires!) -> https://amzn.to/4tc1ZlX

M18 Fuel Hammer Drill and Impact Set (never know when you’re going to need a drill) -> https://amzn.to/4uQIKzK

M18 8″ Pruning Saw (amazing handheld, battery operated chainsaw!) -> https://amzn.to/4t6BaPY

Welder

We carry a Millermatic 142 Mig Welder. This is especially handy for when important things break, and this particular welder is a good travel size! You can check out the welder on Amazon here -> https://amzn.to/4bI7Nwi

Camping/RV Favorites

We have so many items that we use in our camper that we love! Most of everything we use you can find on Amazon! A few of our favorite items are linked below:

RV Refrigerator Fin Fan with Temperature Readout– this helps keeps air moving in our refrigerator to avoid the frost build up along the coils -> https://amzn.to/3PXUVuB

Givebest 800-watt Plug in Heater– we took out our large fireplace heater to save space and weight, and replaced it with three wall heaters we were able to place in each bedroom and main living space -> https://amzn.to/4lN1Djf

Kelty Camping Chairs– we have the love seat and two lowdown kelty chairs and they are great! -> https://amzn.to/40SJjeN

22″ Tabletop Blackstone Griddle– an absolute necessity for cooking larger meals outdoors -> https://amzn.to/4t14l6R

14″ Folding Shelf Brackets and OXO Dish Drying Rack– my personal favorite, it allows us a separate drying station for dishes (https://amzn.to/4uLgChH) instead of using counter space and the shelf brackets (https://amzn.to/4taoasL) allow it to fold down when not in use!

Ninja Flip Air Fryer/Toaster Oven– Maybe not specifically an RV item, but we use it EVERY day! Especially if we are plugged in to shore power and don’t want to use propane or turn the oven on, this toaster oven is the perfect size to make meals for our family of four! -> https://amzn.to/4bx4LMF

Telescoping Camp Light– We love this light because it is very sleek and versatile! Check it out -> https://amzn.to/4sxxS8E

Wolf ’em Sticks– These are such a fun treat to have around the campfire! Wrap some dough around it, roast it, and stuff with berries and whip cream! Instant, delicious treat. Check it out -> https://amzn.to/4rUndUj

Butane Torch Lighters– These lighters work so much better than the click lighters. We love them! -> https://amzn.to/4dIoU3D

Projector and DVD Player– We got rid of the main TV and replaced it with this projector, paired with a DVD player and a TV Fire Stick. So fun and BONUS you can even watch movies outside when the weather is nice! -> https://amzn.to/4t8yW2B

Portable Camping Hammock– You can’t go wrong with a hammock when you’re surrounded by trees. So great for relaxing, and the kids love it too! -> https://amzn.to/4t5sgCc
